NARUD e.V. – Empowering African Communities
NARUD e.V. stands for "Network African Rural and Urban Development" and is a migrant-diasporic organization that has been active since 2005. Our organization is led entirely by migrants from African countries, with both paid and volunteer staff and supporters from different parts of the world, including Germany.
Our main goals in Germany, particularly in Berlin, are to promote and empower people in African migrant communities, promote the cultural values of African societies, address colonial legacies and continuities, and open up civil society for intercultural dialogue.
As such, NARUD e.V. is actively engaged in anti-racism initiatives, such as the Berlin Registerstellen network, the Alliance Against Racism - Wedding & Moabit, the Landesnetzwerk Afrikanischer Vereine - LAV, the Decolonize Berlin network, the EPIZ Education Network for One World, the Berlin Development Policy Council / One World City Berlin - BER, MoveGLOBAL, and the Alliance for Development Policy with Africa - BEA at the federal level.
Our activities in Africa focus on health, education, vocational training, infrastructure, and strengthening civil society, with a focus on supporting marginalized populations. We aim to activate and utilize endogenous potentials.
NARUD e.V.'s activities can be categorized into four areas: anti-discrimination work, participation of people with migration experience, development education, and development cooperation.
Join us in our mission to empower African communities in Germany and Africa. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society.
